Nasreen Jajbhay
Nasreen Jajbhay is a director at Jajbhay Attorneys, a certified trainer and serves as a part-time Commissioner at Tokiso, the CCMA and various bargaining councils.
She decided to pursue the noble faculty of law because she believes that in every aspect of life there must be balance, justice and equality. She has always dedicated herself to perfection and the highest ethical standards.
Studying law is in the genealogy of Nasreen’s family. She intends following in the giant footsteps of late uncle, Justice Mohamed Jajbhay, who served with intense ferocity at the High Court.
Nasreen attained her Bachelor of Laws degree and postgraduate certificate in Labour Dispute Resolution Practice (cum laude) from the leading University of the Witwatersrand. She achieved Deans List Status in 2012 and attained her certification as a trainer through Pearson Corporate Institute in 2020 (cum laude).
Nasreen conducts investigations; presides over s188A processes; disciplinary enquiries; appeals and grievance hearings. In private practice, she has successfully represented large enterprises and individuals alike before various fora. Although she prides herself on expert legal advisement, preparation and litigation, she appreciates the expediency and effectiveness of alternative dispute resolution.
Nasreen has been involved in wage negotiations; mediation; has co-facilitated relationship by objectives and section 189 processes. She is equipped with extensive in-depth labour law knowledge supplemented by practical skills to provide an all-round service. Nasreen has presented labour relations training to shop stewards, legal practitioners, representatives of organized business and labour. She was appointed to programme direct two prestigious CCMA events and presents case law at the CCMA’s CLM.
Nasreen was invited as a guest speaker on a live episode of ITV’s Legal Ease segment where she discussed strikes and collective bargaining and on Radio Islam’s breakfast show. Nasreen was named a winner of the Mail and Guardians Top 200 Young South African’s in 2021. Nasreen was featured as a trailblazer and guest speaker at the Wits-Australia segment where young graduates and staff of the University of Witwatersrand discussed how they are changing the world.
In 2023, Nasreen was recognised in the Panache Women of Wonder Awards as an award recipient.
